Vergèze, a unique terroir
A unique spring in the South of France
PERRIER natural mineral water is born at the company's Vergèze site, located in the Gard department, a unique terroir and environment.
PERRIER natural mineral water comes from a variety of subsoil limestone rocks located in the Garrigues massif and extending beneath the Vistrenque plain. Rainwater infiltrates the garrigues and gradually mineralizes on its way through these rocks, thus giving birth to PERRIER natural mineral water.
The spring impluvium: an exceptional terroir
If we are to preserve PERRIER natural mineral water, which is located in an underground aquifer, it is essential that we protect the surrounding lands that form the watershed known as the “impluvium”; everything is interconnected. The PERRIER spring impluvium mainly consists of the garrigue shrubland flora typically found in the South of France. Preserving the natural features of the impluvium is fundamental to our work.
